Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recently visited the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) to assess the progress of key infrastructure and industrial projects. Accompanied by senior state officials, the CM’s visit underscored the government’s commitment to transforming Dholera into a global hub for technology and manufacturing.

1. Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway Nearing Completion
The 109-kilometer Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, a critical infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity between Ahmedabad and Dholera SIR, has reached 95% completion. This expressway is expected to significantly reduce travel time and bolster economic activities in the region.
2. Advancements in Social Infrastructure
Significant progress has been made in developing essential social infrastructure within Dholera SIR. Completed projects include a 300 MW solar park, integrated road networks, underground utilities, and plug-and-play industrial facilities. Additionally, operational systems such as water treatment plants, sewage and effluent treatment facilities, and ICT infrastructure are now in place .
3. Tata Electronics’ Semiconductor Facility
Tata Electronics is making substantial strides in establishing a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Dholera. The company has signed a technology pact with a US chip firm to procure semiconductor equipment and services for the plant . The facility is poised to play a pivotal role in India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
4. Development of Dholera International Airport
The Dholera International Airport, envisioned to be a major cargo and passenger hub, is under active development. The CM reviewed the ongoing construction of the cargo building, terminal building, and runway, which are being developed at an estimated cost of ₹1,350 crore.
