Dholera Industrial Smart City will be home to world-class infrastructure, including the Dholera International Airport, expressways, metro connectivity, and a seamless transport network. Located 100 kilometers southwest of Ahmedabad, Dholera SIR will have excellent connectivity to all parts of India and international destinations. The region will be linked to Ahmedabad via Metro Rail and a controlled-access six-lane expressway, which is already under implementation.

Dholera SIR will bring together an exciting mix of smart technology and industries. The city will be developed in phases over 30 years, covering an area of 920 square kilometers. Special zones have been allocated for industrial areas, residential living, high-access corridors, and recreational spaces. The detailed implementation strategy includes planning, designing, and constructing essential utilities such as potable water, sewage, industrial wastewater management, stormwater drainage, power, information and communication technology (ICT), and roads. These features will make Dholera a “dig-free” city with a plug-and-play approach, allowing industries to set up their operations without worrying about infrastructure development.
Dholera SIR will provide an immersive environment for its citizens by integrating essential services in healthcare, education, and safety, infused with smart technology. Residential areas will have planned social amenities, dedicated recreational spaces, eco-friendly public transport, neighborhood and community parks at regular intervals, and theme parks to ensure a vibrant and lively city. The city will offer its residents a high quality of life comparable to some of the best cities in the world.
Land allotment work has already begun in the activation area. As one of India’s fastest-growing states, Gujarat has a high demand for land, and we are happy to announce that Dholera is almost ready. It is a platinum-ranked city based on its structure and sustainability—one of only two such cities in the world, alongside Washington, D.C.
Dholera SIR will bring exciting opportunities for businesses. This facility will house the offices of development agencies, the control and skill development center, and the integrated command and control center. The state-of-the-art ICT command and control center will enable real-time monitoring of utilities, making the city self-sustainable and investment-ready.
Another unique and innovative feature of Dholera SIR is its stormwater canal system. This engineering marvel will efficiently capture stormwater runoff for rainwater harvesting, making the city resilient and environmentally sustainable.
